My Background + Story

Since founding Kaarin Huffman Color + Image in 2015, I have worked one-on-one with sharp and focused clients, who want their image to reflect their strengths and accomplishments. Elevating and energizing personal style has never been so important.  To continually evolve my practice to meet the needs of my clientele, I have sought out and trained with some of the best in the industry:

  • Professional Stylist Training, StyleCore (2018)
  • Color Masterclass, Carla Mathis (2017)
  • Fashion Institute of Technology, NY, Image coursework (2015-16)
  • Color Analysis Training and Continuing Education, 12 Blueprints (2014, 2015)
  • Energy for Performance, The Human Performance Institute (2014)
  • Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) Certification (2011)
  • Coaching Masterclass for Developing Leaders (2010)
  • University of Colorado Boulder, Bachelor of Arts in Communication

Previously, when I worked as an HR and OD specialist, I was fascinated by how the right organizational framework could remove barriers, change perspectives, create new found confidence and bring people together. I love a good framework!

On a personal note, I love clothes. Always have, always will. From my days of playing dress up in my mom’s heels and hats, I’ve always been drawn to the closet. And still to this day, whenever I need to put myself in a different state of mind, I turn to my closet. It’s almost therapeutic.

But it wasn’t until college that I began considering how this might play into my career and work with others. As a Communications major, what struck me was the transformative power of clothing. I observed this both in the classroom and in my retail job. I loved helping the women at Casual Corner put together their own looks, even though my own style was better described as “Casual College.”

So, it felt like second nature when, in my career, I began seeing ways to weave together my interest in personal style color with my leadership development and coaching work. Somewhere along the way, When I was first introduced to the concept of color analysis and image psychology, the light bulb came on. I realized I was wading into exciting new territory while simultaneously leaning into my strength.

With the start of my entrepreneurial chapter, my work’s purpose has come fully into view and the puzzle pieces fit. I can’t wait to see what the future holds for me and for my clients.

And now, while my trusted frameworks are the foundation of my work with clients (and my own style), I have the insight and experience to know when to keep or break the rules for maximum allure and impact.
